Why website quotes vary so widely
A five-page brochure site built from prepared content is a different product from a multi-service lead-generation website with research, copy support, case studies, integrations, migration and technical SEO. Both may be called a “website”, but the work and risk are not comparable.
Arkidis does not publish an unverified starting price. A fixed proposal follows discovery so the responsibilities, deliverables and exclusions can be understood before work begins.
- Number of unique templates, not only page count
- Content strategy, writing and migration
- Forms, booking, CRM or e-commerce integrations
- Custom design and reusable component depth
- SEO audit, redirects and launch QA
- Training and post-launch support
Compare scope before comparing price
Ask every supplier to describe what happens before design, who prepares content, how mobile behaviour is reviewed, how existing URLs are protected and what is tested before launch. A lower number can become expensive if essential work is simply absent.
A useful proposal should identify assumptions. For example: who owns photography, who enters content, what browser support is included, whether analytics is configured and what happens if the current site contains more URLs than expected.
What should be included in a professional proposal?
Look for a clear relationship between the business problem and the deliverables. A list of pages is not enough if there is no explanation of audience, conversion paths or technical boundaries.
- Objectives and intended audiences
- Sitemap and template scope
- Content and asset responsibilities
- Design and feedback stages
- Development and integrations
- SEO, redirects, accessibility and QA
- Launch, ownership and support terms
How to prepare a useful budget brief
Share the current website, the most valuable customer journeys, required systems, known deadlines and the internal people available for feedback. If the budget is not fixed, describe the business priority and ask what can be achieved at different levels of scope.
The goal is not to buy the largest website. It is to fund the smallest coherent system that explains the offer, proves credibility and lets the right prospects take action.
